The whole of Last week (October 26-30), I took the English Skill Training - Basic. It would just be fair if I wrote this entry in the English language. Anyway, I’m not suppose to attend this training due to hectic project demands but my manager insisted that I take this training since we couldn’t find any replacement. So there I was attending the 8-hour training and going back to office to do SCM activities. Woahhhhhhhh… The training started with a pre-assessment exam (both written and oral). As usual, I got a passing score at the written part but not so good on the oral part, especially the pronunciation portion. Cop… Cap… Still… Steal… Tall… Toll… Woahhhhh… Aren’t they pronounced in the same way?!?!? Too bad they aren’t. Anyway, after the pre-assessment, we started with the first agenda which is Confidence-Building. Liz, our facilitator, was able to present the topic in an interesting way. I was intrigued by her because she was a DJ at RT 99.5 yet she’s very pretty. I have a notion that DJs have good voices but not so good physical features. “Her beauty was intimidating.” This was one of the comments on her from her previous class. We had a different proctor from Tuesday ‘til Friday since Liz has to handle the Intermediate class. Ahhhhhhhh… Her replacement was Mark. Mark is a well-spoken individual who can express himself with confidence and pride. He has an immense knowledge on the English language. Of course he has a vast knowledge on the English dialect. Why would he be a facilitator if not? How stupid of me to write that line. Anyway, for the next four days, we tackled Organization and Structure, Accent Neutralization, Grammar Skills, Idiomatic Phrases, and English Comprehension. We also had numerous activities and CFUs which gave us time and chance to bond with our classmates. The training was wrapped up with our final exam which all of us passed with flying colors. I already miss my classmates, the activities, and most especially the free foods. Hi to my classmates Ruel, Arjay, Red, Jet, Tom, Reah, Sylvie, and Sarah. Hello to our facilitators, Liz and Mark, and our HR Rep, Reah. I better end this entry before I get criticized for attending a 1 week English training and still write this bad. Hehehe…
P.S. Schwa is a mid-central neutral vowel, typically occurring in unstressed syllables.

Last Tuesday (October 25), I had my annual review with my career counselor at Accenture. Each employee in Accenture has a career counselor to whom he/she could track and plan his career growth and share some career concerns and problems. The good thing about this career counseling is that Accenture provides financial budget for counseling activities. An annual review is required every start of a fiscal year (September for Accenture). I together with my career counselor decided to have our annual review over dinner at Old Manila in Manila Peninsula Hotel. Yahooooo… Free Food… Anyway, I have no idea what to order since it was my first time to eat at this restaurant. So I let my career counselor decide what we would eat. She ordered Tuna Something and Soup Something for her and Roast Beef, Giant Prawns, and Ox’s Tail Soup for me. I didn’t see the price of her orders but mine cost P1,700 for Roast Beef and Giant Prawns and P500 for the Ox’s Tail Soap. Whaaaaatttt?!?! Buti na lang Libre… hehehe… The waitress gave us bread and butter for appetizer. Wowwww… Sarap… Then the soaps followed. Afterwards, a scoop of calamansi ice cream was delivered to us. According to my counselor, it is used to remove the aftertaste of the soap before we eat the main dish. At last, the main dish came. Grabe sobrang SARAP ng roast beef and giant prawns ko. No wonder it was that expensive. I’ve never tasted something as delicious and as tasty as this. The dinner was wrapped up by chocolate candies for dessert courtesy of the chef. I recommend this place for the financially unchallenged people out there.

Last Thursday, JPMC had its October team building. The original plan was to watch a movie, have a dinner, and play at time zone. But since two of our team members are not available on Thursday night, we decided to just have a lunch buffet then movie, light dinner, and time zone after office. We had a buffet at Hard Rock for lunch. There were numerous choices from rice and various heavy viands, to pastas, to soups, to salads, to Japanese foods, to fruits, to sweets… As usual I tried everything even though my doctor told me to cut-off eating fatty foods since my cholesterol is high. Cut-off ka dyan… libre toh noh… hehehe… After eating, we went back to office to work and wait for the clock to hit 5:30pm so that we could continue our team building. After office hours, we went straight to Glorietta 4 to watch Deuce Bigalow. Some wanted to watch Into the Blue with Jessica’s sexy body but majority wins. Hehehe… Deuce Bigalow was funny though some scenes were really really really “Bastos”. Hehehe… The movie was a no brainer and to a point ay nakakabobo… Hehehe… On a positive note, it was very relaxing and helps you laugh out some of your stress at work. After the movie, we ate a light dinner at Mongkok with a P150 budget for each person. I shared my budget with Allan to order a beef with broccoli, lemon chicken, and rice. Others were still full from our buffet at Hard Rock so they just ordered dim sums. After eating our dinner, Lalaine, Erwin, and Karren already went home while Allan, Nanah, Aldrin, and I planned to have a shoot-out at Toby’s and spend the rest of the budget at time zone. On our way to Toby’s, we noticed that were no more people so we took that opportunity to take pictures at the kiddy rides near Filbars (Just refer to the pictures above. Parang mga bata… Hehehe…). Unfortunately, Toby’s was already closed and nagkatamaran kami to play at timezone so we just ordered coffee at San Francisco Coffee then nag kwentuhan for more than 30 minutes, I guess. Tapos… Tapos na… Hehehe… Uwian na kami…

Last Friday was a sad and happy affair in our office. It was sad since Paulo, our longtime officemate and teammate, is resigning from Accenture. On the other hand, it was a meaningful day for our officemate Leya wherein her husband (Aldrin) prepared a surprise baby shower for her. Aldrin and Paulo treated the whole Ariba capability to a scrumptious dinner (2 huge bilao of palabok, 2 huge bilao of spaghetti, 2 huge bilao of puto, 2 chocolate cake rolls, 1 huge bilao of lumpiang shanghai, and softdrinks). Ariba pips prepared a PowerPoint presentation for Paulo with his pictures in Accenture and heart warming messages from his colleagues. As for Leya, the Ariba pips gave gifts (stroller, baby tub, diapers, baby milk bottles, toys, and other accessories) for her upcoming baby SAM. Kain-kain… Kwento-kwento… Picture-picture… Kain-kain ulit… Kwento-kwento ulit… Picture-picture ulit… Kain-kain ulit… Kwento-kwento ulit… Picture-picture ulit…
The day ended with Paulo having a coffee-kwentuhan with the Aribakids (his start group) at Seattle’s Best in Greenbelt 3. The original plan was to have a dinner at TGIF but we were all already full. We gave Paulo a John Cena (his ultimate idol) CD and we plan to give him a mosaic picture of AribaKids but it was not yet finished so we would just give it to him maybe next week or when we meet again as a group. Coffee-coffee… Kain-kain… Picture-picture… Kwento-kwento… Asaran-asaran… Coffee-coffee ulit… Kain-kain ulit… Picture-picture ulit… Kwento-kwento ulit… Asaran-asaran ulit…
Good Luck to You Papa Pau… and Best Wishes and Good Health to the upcoming parents (Aldrin and Leya)… Hope to see you soon Sam…

Last Monday, I went to Medical city to have my blood tested. Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh… Takot ako sa karayum… I like to donate blood for Red Cross but my fear of Needle and Injection hinders me to do so. So that morning, I was really scared. Plus I don’t have any idea of how much blood would be collected for testing. Waaaahhhhhhh… I arrived at the lab at 7 am in the morning. I saw the large needle and bottle that needs to be filled with my blood. Waaaaahhhhh… Ayaw ko na… hehehe… I even asked the nurse “Masakit ba yan?”. Siguro naisip nun… ang tanda-tanda na nito… takot pa sa karayum… hehehe… Paki mo ba… e first time ko e… hehehe… Anyway, there it was closed fist and a rubber tied in my right arm. Nooooo… Stopppp… hehehe… ang arte… But when the needle was stuck to my vein, wala naman palang sakit e… hehehe… Maybe next time I can donate blood at Red Cross… Naaaaahhhhhhh…

Bagong Model ng Sbarro
Last Friday was Paulo’s (my officemate and start group in Accenture) birthday. Papa Pau, as we call him, is my wrestling and cell phone guru. He is my kakwentuhan sa wrestling here in our office since I think only the two of us in our team enjoys following the drama and storyline of WWE. He also knows every cell phone brand and feature there is. He also knows how to work around any cell phone unit. Pwede itong magtinda ng cellphone sa greenhills. Hehehe… He also gives me supplies of cell phone games. Anyway, our team surprised Pau with a red ribbon cake, bamboo 1st album cd, balloons, and a card. As usual, we sung a happy birthday song na hindi sabay-sabay, paputol-putol, at hindi nakocomplete ang song. Hehehe… Papa Pau then treated the team to a Sbarro Chicago Deep pizza. Grabe… It was my first time to eat that pizza and sobrang nakakabusog… Pero syempre kayang-kaya ko parin ubusin… Hehehe…

Malas... Since there were 4 of us in Fraser, namely Allan, Aldrin, Nanah, and I and only 3 free breakfasts are available. Aldrin, Nanah, and I decided to have a draw lots to determine who among us won't avail the free breakfast. A smiling face means you would eat breakfast and a sad face means you won't. At sa kamalas-malasan ko... I picked the sad face twice in a row (Wednesday and Thursday nights). Whatttttt... And we only did this twice... Waaaaaaahhhhh... Kaya bad trip... 2 consecutive days ako na walang buffet breakfast... Grrrrrrrrr... Dinaya ako nung dalawa... hehehe... Pero oks lang... Pampapayat naman... Sana tunaba kayong dalawa... Sana lumobo kayo at maging balyena… hehehe... May sama ng loob e noh... Hehehe...

Team Building - ThanksGiving - Despedida

Last Tuesday, our team had our September teambuilding, the much postponed thanksgiving of the new promotes, and the despedida party for Oscar. The night started with a dinner at Brazil-Brazil in Rockwell. The buffet costs P595 plus 10% service charge per person. Whoah... Medyo mahal... Pero oks lang... basta buffet yari sakin yan... hehehe... Anyway, the food was ok. I liked the lamb ala kare-kare style and the fish fillet. The style of Brazil-Brazil is having a yoyo (green at 1 side and red at 1 side) at the table. When the yoyo is on the green side, the waiters would bring food on your table while the red side indicates the opposite. The foods that where being delivered are mostly grilled and roasted like chicken barbeque, pork loin, spare ribs, beef brisket, sausage, corn, pineapple, banana, pork ewans and beef ewans. As usual busog to the max ako... hehehe... kain-kain... kwento-kwento... then I asked the waiter if I could take the yoyo home and he nodded yes. yahooo.... may souvenir nanaman... hehehe... then Aldrin, Leya, Erwin, Karren, and Evelyn also asked for one. Ubos ang yoyo... hehehe... After our dinner, we went straight to Frasers para magkantahan gamit ang magic sing ni Oscar. Tama na yan... kantahan... What’s videoke without drinks... Oscar bought Cuervo Tequila, Smirnoff Vodka, SanMig Light, and various chips which he paid for by the way. Galante pa... hehehe... Kaya yun kanta-kanta... shot-shot... at calamansi ang proxy ng lemon... jologs... hehehe... Allan started the singing with 4 or 5 songs in a span of 7 songs. Monopoly... hehehe... At around 1 am, only Erwin, Karren, Oscar, Nanah, and I were left standing and singing... Allan and Lalaine already went on their rooms while Aldrin and Leya already went home. We finished singing at around 3:30am. Too bad we still have to follow JPMC 9 am campaign. Waaaahhhhhhhh... Lahat kami may headache pumasok sa office... hehehe...
P.S. Ayossshhh... hindi ko kinailangan magedit ng pictures... hehehe... =p

Things I Miss When I’m Not Going Home
I’ve been living at an apartment for almost 2 weeks now and I come to realize that I miss a lot of things from home. These are things I normally don’t appreciate but I’m craving for them right now.

- I miss hitching at my brother’s car
- I miss commuting
- I miss sleeping at the FX
- I miss my room
- I miss my bed
- I miss my Spiderman pillow
- I miss my 2 basketball balls
- I miss my playstation
- I miss my TV
- I miss my sofa
- I miss my mirror
- I miss my CR
- I miss my home
