Ambush Team Building Dinner
Last Friday, I went back to the office after my training at around 5:30 pm to get my things, check my mail, and makipagkwentuhan, manggulo, and mangulit with my teammates. Anyway, when I arrived, they told me there was an issue and asked me to help resolved the issue. waaaaaaaahhhhhh…. Just when I thought I could go home early, a work was assigned to me. But it’s ok, it all part of my job and I don’t want to leave the team with an issue without giving an extra hand. Since the issue was not yet resolved and it is already pass 7 pm, our team lead decided to use half of our team building budget for July to have a dinner. We decided to have a dinner at Chef Angelo, also known as Chef Paulo JJJ, but unfortunately the queue was so long and the place was already packed with people. So Allan suggested eating at a newly opened restaurant named Aveneto Pizzaria Restaurant which specializes mainly at pastas and pizzas. And since the restaurant just recently opened and is currently on a promotional stage, it is not that expensive. Exactly the place we are looking for. hehehe… All of us were present except for Karren and another team member. The two already went home at the time we decided to have an ambush team building dinner. We were nine in total, eight JPMCista plus James (the boyfriend of Nanah). We ordered four pastas (two white sauce and two red sauce) and four pizzas. Actually, there were only two plates of pizza but each plate is divided into two different pizzas. kain-kain… kwento-kwento… kain-kain… kwento-kwento… Grabe busog na busog ako… As usual, tinikman ko lahat ng dishes and inubos ko ang mga natira… hehehe… grabe after eating halos hindi na ko makahinga and hindi ko na mastomach-in yung tyan ko kaya bundat ako… hehehe… After we’ve finished eating, we asked for the bill and we found out that they don’t accept credit card. Good thing the restaurant is not that expensive. Our bill only cost 2,140 pesos. It’s very cheap for an Italian pizza-pasta restaurant taking in consideration the number of dishes we ordered and that all of us were very full after eating. The bad thing about this is I had to shed out 2,200 pesos to pay for the bill and would not get the reimbursement until August 15. Furthermore since the bill is 2,140 pesos and I gave 2,200 pesos, I gave a tip of 60 pesos which is unusual for me. If not for our team lead, I would have only given 20 pesos for the tip. hehehe… kuripot… Afterwards, we went back to the office and fixed the pending issue.

I’m stuck in office with nothing to do. I had training from 8 am to 5 pm. I am currently glued to my PC at my working area waiting for the clock to hit 8 pm and go to our basketball game scheduled in Guadalupe gym at 830 pm. I have nothing to do, nothing to surf, no one to talk to except for my blog. What to talk about? hmmmmm… Thinking… Thinking… hmmmmm… Senti mood… An undying and everlasting question just pop in my mind, “Would you rather go for someone who loves you or whom you love?”. This is the question… hmmmmmm…. I know someone have asked you this question or you might have heard this question from someone. Either way, you might have stumbled on this question somewhere-somehow. Anyway, for guys, I think it is much easier to go for someone who loves you but what is the challenge on that. I, personally, prefer to go for someone I love. The feeling and happiness of having a relationship and being with someone you love would be much much much sweeter than being with someone who loves you. In addition, the bragging right is more prestigious in having a relationship with someone you love because you know it would need more effort and money to have her love you compared to the other one. Unfortunately for me, I’m a guy who’s all words and no action. The ever so torpe Ryan. hehehe… I always say that I would do this but when the opportunity is there I back down and fold up. hayyyyy… Kailan ka ba matututo… hehehe… Only time could tell. Hope it won’t take too long. hehehe… Ang drama mo… hehehe… Pakamatay ka na lang… hehehe… That’s all folks... Good thing I have my blog to talk with… JJJ

Dinner with Mike / Libreng Pagkain
Last Monday night, our US counterpart (Mike) arrived here in the Philippines in order to get to know our team better, to resolve some issues and problems faced by the team, and maybe to relax and get away from the stress of his work in the US. Anyway, personally I was excited to see and talk to him in person plus I know that if he comes here in the Philippines we would have free dinner. Libreng Pagkain… my favorite type of food… hehehe…

Anyway, the team’s dinner with Mike was set last Tuesday night. Our team reserved a private room at Gloria Maris. All 10 of us were there plus our manager and of course Mike. And there we were, we first ordered our drinks then the meal came. First stuff was the appetizer. I don’t know if that was a good set of appetizer, there were pork meat, duck meat, baby octopus, and a white strip of something I don’t know. What again?!? Baby octopus?!? hmmmm… The duck meat was ok it tasted just like pork. The white strip of something I don’t know, if I might admit, tasted quite good. As for the baby octopus, it was crunchy-chewy just like a squid but I didn’t eat the head only the tentacles since I can’t imagine eating an octopus’ head. We also had a shark meat soup. It tastes just like an ordinary fish meat. There was also a fried pigeon (kalapati). Ano?!? Kalapati?!? Kinakain ba yun?!? Anyway, I tried eating it but it didn’t taste good and the meat was dark and hard so didn’t finish eating it. Anyway the picture on top is the head of a fried pigeon. Yung nasa dalawang sides... The other dishes where quite ordinary and common foods. There where crab, fish, mushroom with vegetables, breaded something with mango, and I know there’s some more dishes but I can’t remember it. Kain-kain… Usap-usap… Kain-kain… Usap-usap… Then our team lead told Mike and our manager that in our last team building at Chubby China, I ate an equivalent of 5 persons' appetite. It would work to my advantage since I really have a big appetite. Then the fruits came and I wanted to finish all the remaining fruits in the table but everyone was looking at me when I was eating and wanted me to take it all so I was a little bit reserved since our manager and US counterpart was there so I just said I’m full. But if only the 10 of us were there, I’ll eat it all without any hesitation. Hehehe… That ends up our Gloria Maris dinner with Mike.

The team’s free dinner didn’t end last Tuesday. We were also expecting another free dinner with Mike this Thursday night. Yahooooooo… libre nanaman… hehehe… Last Thursday, Mike, our manager, Allan, along with a tourist guide went to a Manila tour after lunch. The team would just follow after office hours to have another dinner with Mike before he went back to the US. At around 7 pm, Erwin, Oscar, Karren, Paulo, and I followed to Pantalan restaurant at Bay walk were we would be having our dinner. Nanah and Aldrin couldn’t come since they are on support (nightshift) while Lalaine was on vacation leave. The five of us arrived at around 8 pm in Pantalan and sakto the food was just being served. Kainan na… hehehe… There were breaded shrimps, calmares, sinagang na bangus sa bayabas, inihaw na tilapia, ginataang chicken, pinakbet, laing, and sizzling bangus. Kain-kain… Kwento-kwento… Kain-kain… Kwento-kwento… Then dessert came, some ate ice cream while others including myself ate halo-halo. Sarap nung halo-halo daming sahog.

Yesterday, I had to walk all the way to dela Rosa because of the stupid rally of Bro. Eddie Villanueva (sorry for the Bro. Eddie followers but this is my opinion and this is my blog site, I say what ever I want to say. JJJ). Anyway, Ayala Ave was closed so my FX terminal in front of MSE was transferred to dela Rosa. Grrrrrrrrr… I had to walk and wait at the terminal for so long since the passengers are minimal. That was just an appetizer because the rally today (Wednesday), sponsored by the “TANGA at INUTIL” na opposition leaders, was even more chaotic and has more numerous squatters. Grrrrrrrr… Ayala Avenue was again closed and full of brainless – paid off – squatters asking our President to resign. And who would they replace her with if I might ask? Best Over Acting Actress Susan “Crying Widow” Roces? High School Graduate Erap “Weteng Lord” Estrada? Buhayin ang Patay Fernando “Panday” Poe Jr.? No Way!!!!! In fact in my opinion they don’t have the right to complain because most of them are non-tax payers. They are just the useless population in our society that needs to be wiped out in our country. Nagkalat lang sa daan… hindi na nahiya sa mga naglilinis… nagkalat pa ng amoy grabe talaga… pinaghalong pawis… ihi… tae (sorry for the word, I would use this often in this entry JJJ)… As our US client whose having a visit in the Philippines said “They really leave there mark”. By the way, I prefer the second Plan. Anyway, I’m about to go home now and I’m very hesitant to leave the office because the jologs ralihista are still out there. Their rotten and dreadful smell is still in the air. Grrrrrr…. I have to walk again all the way to dela Rosa… Damn these ralihistas… Bang Bang Bang… Isang bala ka lang… ay mali tatlo pala yun… labo… may masabi lang… that’s all…

The large one was for the girls… grrrrrr… the small one for the boys…. grrrrrr… hehehe… Pagkadating palang e nagshower na agad ako and I used all the available products there (soap, shampoo, conditioner, body gel, and lotion). Last Monday night, we had our team building dinner out at Chubby China. We just decided to use our team building budget to eat dinner and buy Starbucks coffee because of our busy and hectic schedule this pass two weeks. So it started, the whole team except for one anonymous teammate was there. We arrived at around 7 pm I think. We all availed the P250 eat all you can promo of the restaurant. As per restaurant policy, they will give you the menu of dishes and you would tell them your preferred dishes and they would cook it for you but you should consume it all or else you would pay additional for it. You could always order additional dishes if you think you could still consume them. I think the team had a total of 3-4 rounds. I’m not sure but I’m sure I had 4 rounds. hehehe. Grabe ang daming food (beef brisket, beef with broccoli, mixed seafood, fried chicken, soy chicken, white chicken, orange flavored chicken, shrimp something, noodles something, basta marami pang something hindi ko na maalala). hehehe… Anyway yun busog na busog ako. I think the cost of what I ate would total to P500 kaya lugi sila sakin. hehehe… Never naman ako nagpalugi sa eat all you can e. hehehe… After eating, Allan, Nanah, Lalaine, Erwin went ahead. Erwin went home and the other three went back to office. Oscar, Kaykay, Paulo, Aldrin and I stayed a little longer since I’m still ordering black gulaman which is still included in the eat all you can promo. Naka 4 ata ako o 5… Syempre kailangan sulitin… hehehe… Kwento-kwento konti… That’s all…
